Get to Know Knightdale, NC
Knightdale has been steadily growing since the early 1900s, when the railroad arrived and attracted new businesses and residents. It wasn't until the late 1900s, however, that Knightdale's population skyrocketed. That's due in part to the development of Research Triangle Park (RTP) in Durham and the I-540 Outer Loop around Raleigh.
Town planners have worked hard to accommodate Knightdale's recent growth and still maintain the small-town vibe. Downtown Knightdale is a great example of this: Local shops and services fill the historic brick storefronts along First Street, while Knightdale Station Park offers all kinds of modern facilities.
Knightdale has many qualities worth mentioning: quick access to the Knightdale Bypass and I-540 to Raleigh and RTP, schools within the nationally ranked Wake County Public School System, 5 parks and plenty of trails, its own brewing company and distillery, plenty of shopping centers and a variety of neighborhoods. It's no wonder, then, that Knightdale made Money Magazine's list of the best places to live in 2017!
